Background
Bali Hai Cruises have been conducting marine surveys on the coral reefs around Lembongan Island for over 20 years, operating in one of the most diverse marine environments on earth. To ensure the long-term viability of these environments, Bali Hai Cruises is currently working with the Nusa Penida Marine Protected Area administration and other stakeholders to support the establishment of Marine Protected Areas and manage the area’s valuable marine resources.
In 2017 Bali Hai Cruises pioneered a novel partnership model by collaborating with our team to become the first tourism operator who requested formal training in the MARRS technique with the goal of setting up their own restoration program. Since then, Bali Hai Cruises has installed more than 1,000 Reef Stars, showcasing their work to the public through an interactive conservation tour on the Bali Hai Pontoon. Tourists can experience first-hand the magic of coral reefs and the value of responsible restoration with Bali Hai Diving Adventures.
